Feel Good Monday: Fundraising for the Children’s Home Society of VA

Not everyone is lucky to have caring and loving parents, this is why I really admire the work that the Children’s Home Society of Virginia (CHSVA) does everyday. Being a dad is probably one of the reasons why I understand why what they do is so important.

I had the opportunity to attend one of their most recent fundraisers at Strangeways Brewery. I am glad to say that it was a total success. Lots of people showed up and Strangeways was kind enough to donate some of the proceeds of that night to benefit CHSVA.

At the end of the day, no child should grow up without a family, whatever that looks like, so what they do is truly noble.

From their website:
“OUR MISSION: TO BUILD STRONG, PERMANENT FAMILIES AND LIFELONG RELATIONSHIPS FOR VIRGINIA’S AT-RISK CHILDREN AND YOUTH.

Children’s Home Society of Virginia is a full-service, private, nonprofit 501(c)(3), non-sectarian licensed child-placing agency, and one of Virginia’s oldest adoption agencies. Since our charter by the Virginia General Assembly in 1900, CHS has been guided by the fundamental belief that every child deserves a home. To date, CHS has successfully facilitated placement of more than 13,000 children into safe and permanent homes – that’s enough to fill every seat at The Diamond, and still leave several hundred people standing in the aisles!”

Or if you’d like to get involved, make sure to check out their website at http://chsva.org
